O Record Store Day, evento anual que celebra as lojas de discos independentes ao redor do mundo, divulgou a lista completa de lançamentos exclusivos para sua edição de 2024.
Marcado para sábado, 20 de abril, o evento promete atrair entusiastas da música com uma seleção especial de lançamentos em vinil, cassete e outros formatos colecionáveis de centenas de artistas renomados. Entre os destaques deste ano estão The 1975, David Bowie, Daft Punk, Blur, Lily Allen, Gorillaz, Elton John, Paramore e Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
A 17ª edição do Record Store Day ocorre em um momento otimista para o mercado de vinil, que viu um aumento de quase 15% nas vendas nos primeiros nove meses de 2023, apesar da concorrência dos serviços de streaming.
O sucesso do evento em 2023 contribuiu significativamente para o aumento das vendas de vinil, que registraram um salto de 122% na semana de sua realização. De acordo com a Official Charts Company, foram vendidos 190 mil discos de vinil nesse período, superando as vendas de CDs e marcando um crescimento de 37,2% nas vendas físicas em comparação com a semana anterior.
O Record Store Day continua a ser um marco importante no calendário musical, não apenas apoiando lojas de discos independentes, mas também promovendo a cultura do vinil entre gerações de fãs. A expectativa para o evento de 2024 é alta, com a promessa de oferecer aos amantes da música a oportunidade de adquirir itens únicos e celebrar a paixão compartilhada pela música física.
